Safety is a significant concern when it comes to driving with a cracked windshield. A small crack or chip that doesn’t obstruct the driver’s view may be considered less dangerous than a large crack that impairs visibility. However, even small cracks can potentially compromise the structural integrity of the windshield. It’s generally recommenced to have any windshield with a crack replaced, due to safety concerns. In many states it is actually illegal to drive with a cracked windshield.
